Hi all! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I’m Ashley, and I’m a 30-something wife to my husband Chad and mother of two precious boys, Jaxson and Easton who are 17 months apart We moved to Colorado from South Florida in March of 2018. I get asked all the time if we miss Florida, and I would have to say not really. Although I really miss my family that still lives there, I really love the mountain life in Colorado — especially the weather.
I was a kindergarten teacher for 4 years while living in South Florida. I taught kindergarten and loved watching how much those little babies grew by the end of the year. I made some of the most amazing friends as a teacher and definitely miss that most of all. I am now a stay at home mom (something I feel so blessed to do) and work part-time as the social media manager for the top wedding blog in Tampa called Marry Me Tampa Bay (go check it out if you love all things wedding and pretty!)
I met my husband Chad about 5 years ago through some mutual friends, and I knew he was the one after only a month of dating. We got engaged about a year later and married a year and a half after that in a beautiful outdoor country club wedding. Three months later we found out we were pregnant, and it seems like life has moved at full-speed ever since. Four months into the pregnancy we decided to drive 3 hours north near Orlando to adopt a puppy (those damn pregnancy hormones) named Maximus. On Thanksgiving Day of 2017, I gave birth to our first perfect and healthy baby boy Jaxson Carter. (That story is for another post because it sure is a good one.)
In December 2017, my husband was offered a job in Colorado and it was an opportunity we could not pass up. Telling my family was definitely the hardest, especially for my mom. She never thought I would move away — I even went to college nearby and have always lived within a 45 minute drive. But now we were moving almost 2,000 miles away, to a different time zone with my parents’ first grandchild. It was definitely the toughest time for our family.
After moving to Colorado, we made the decision to build a house in Castle Rock. In October 2018, we found out we were pregnant with our second baby (surprise! again). It was definitely an exciting, stressful, and emotional time for our family. The week before Thanksgiving and my son’s first birthday, we moved into our new house — talk about a crazy, busy month for the Brady family!
June 3, 2019 we welcomed our second perfect little baby boy Easton Levi to the family and nothing has ever felt more normal. It’s true when they say your heart grows with a new baby — something I was not sure I was ready for.
While our life is far from perfect and definitely a bit chaotic, I feel extremely blessed for this wonderful little family we have built. There are many good days and bad days, but I am glad to finally have this as an outlet to share all those ups, downs and everything in between. I hope you enjoy getting to know us and following along on our journey!
